On Monday, June 2, 2012 Corporal Gertrude Maxwell was presented with the Queen's Diamond Jubillee Medal. Corporal Maxwell is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, stationed in Saskatchewan.
If you attended to the 2006 Annual IAWP Training Conference in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you will remember Gertrude as member of the host committee. If you have attended to other IAWP Conferences, you probably recall Gertrude as a friendly Canadian face enjoying her time among other women officers. If you know Gertrude on a personal level (like some many of us around Region 12) you will recognize that Gertrude is deserving of this recognition for her proactive, professional and compassionate approach to policing!
