Happy New Year everyone!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the retirement of two pioneering women in policing here in Manitoba.
After 34 years, Sergeant Carol Fisher of the Brandon Police Service retired on January 11, 2012. Sergeant Fisher was the first female officer hired to police the city streets in Brandon. Look for more details about Carol's career in an upcoming edition of Women Police.
Superintendent Corrine Scott of the Winnipeg Police Service will retire from policing on January 19, 2012. Corrine is moving on to a new role with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. Corrine's career has spanned more than 31 years.
Retirement is the beginning of new life adventures and we wish both of you much success in whatever that adventure is!
